Drag fields. Get the chart and the SQL.
Drop a spreadsheet and drag its columns onto shelves to build bars, lines, scatter plots, heatmaps and pivot tables. Every chart shows the SQL behind it. It all runs in your browser, so your rows never leave it.
How it works
- Load a table. CSV, TSV, JSON, Excel or Parquet, or paste rows. Each column is typed as a number, date, true/false or text. Numbers become measures; everything else is a dimension.
- Fill the shelves. Columns is the X axis, Rows is the Y axis. Colour splits or shades the marks, Size scales the dots, Filters keep only the rows you pick. Tap a field on a shelf to change its aggregation or date bin.
- Read the result. Auto picks the chart form; pick another to override. The SQL tab shows the exact query, and the Data tab profiles every column.
- Keep it. Download PNG, SVG or CSV, save the view, or copy a link that rebuilds it. Views hold the shelves, never the rows.
Questions
Is my data uploaded?
No. The file is read with the browser's file reader and every query runs on a SQL engine inside the page. Nothing in the file is sent anywhere. If you sign in and save a view, only the view settings (which fields sit on which shelf) are stored, never the rows.
Which Parquet files can it open?
Flat Parquet files written with SNAPPY, GZIP or no compression, which covers the defaults of pandas, pyarrow, DuckDB and Spark. Nested columns are skipped and named. ZSTD files (the polars default) need re-saving with compression="snappy", or exporting as CSV.
How does it choose the chart?
On Auto, a measure over a date becomes a line, a measure per category becomes bars, two measures become a scatter plot, two categories become a heatmap and more than one field on a shelf becomes a pivot table. You can pick any form by hand, and the page says when a form does not fit the fields.
How big a file can it handle?
Up to 300,000 rows are loaded; a larger file is cut and the page says so. Grouped queries over 100,000 rows usually take a fraction of a second.
Does it cost anything?
No. There is no AI model and nothing is metered. It works without an account; signing in is only for keeping saved views on your SkillSafe account.
Why did my chart change form?
Each form needs certain fields: bars need a dimension and a measure, a heatmap needs a dimension on both axes, and so on. If the fields do not fit the form you picked, the page draws the form that fits and says why above the chart.
